I went to 2 large bookstores in my area (Oakland/Berekely, CA) looking for the NG with the painted hands on the cover, only to find it sold out! Now I may be wrong, but I doubt that National Geographic sells out as soon as it hits the shelves with any regularity. Judging from the generally young, hip population of the area, I hypothesize this is related to the henna. Makes me think there is even more interest than I'd imagined. And makes me want to put some fliers out there (maybe in the empty shelf space where NG used to be). Of course it's probably been bought up not by potenial customers, but by aspiring mehndi artists like myself.
