It shouldn't affect your design if it's put on after the design is done and you make sure not to use it for 24 hours before doing the design. Mineral oil is going to stick around a little more than vegetable based oils. It tends to clogs the pores and not allow the skin to breath. I know this is getting off topic, but vegetable based oils are healthier for your skin.
