If your lady has not had any previous problems with henna, then hennaeing her will not cause a problem with her pregnancy. However...the henna take on her tummy may be very light! Her hands will stain beautifully throughout her pregnancy. When I've hennaed pregnant ladies all this summer....even at a few weeks pregnant, I've been suprised at how pale their tummy hennaes come out. The only dark tummy henna results were on a lady whose water broke the next day. As many tummies that I've hennaed with perfectly good results, I wonder if there may be something in the hormone changes that skew the henna tummy color. Liquid latex is an excellent seal-over for pregnant tummies. Dr Dave says, so long as the lady does not feel "ginchy" about hennaeing, there is no reason to avoid it on health reasons. But, the Goddess Lakshmi, according to Jogendra Saksena, takes a dim view of pregnant ladies, and considers them polluted, and regards hennaeing them as a serious offence, except for nails and fingertips, and one henna party at the 8th month of pregnancy. I do have henna patterns for pregnant tummies... email me if you want them sent to you as a gif.
