Henna stained bright orange!

I just used henna and it stained a real bright/dark orange. It was
near a neon orange color. What can I do to get it as brown as
posible?

Here is what I did this time:
Mixed henna with lemon juice untill it was like cookie dough, then
added boiling black coffee untill it was a little less thick then
tooth paste, let sit out at room temp. for 4 hours, put in frige for
overnite.

Can anyone help with tips?
