60/40 is the most common split I've run across in Austin. I've heard
some people doing work for a 70/30 split -- the larger number for the
artist doing the work and the smaller number for the person who owns
the booth/store and runs another business.
When I've shared booths at shows, I've put out my own jar and books,
set my own prices and made my own money. My boothmates and I have
then split the booth fee and kept our own profits. This has been a
good arrangement.
Things get really messy when you feel your friend isn't treating you
fairly. I wish you all the best in sorting out a solution!
