henna on vacation.

Just back from a wonderful vacation. I had great plans for all kinds
of henna projects, but because my husband had great plans for all
kinds of hikes, I ended up only doing half of each...good compromise
all in all.
I tried henna on silk and it worked beautifully, but bled a bit -- so
I'm going to try a drier paste next time. And also make less dainty
designs... Henna on a t-shirt bled a lot more, but left a dark central
design and a lighter bleeding zone, so it actually looks kind of cool.
More experimentation is needed.
The color got more and more intense when I ironed it. Ahh, oooh.
And then I hennaed my hubby -- a wristband and an armband...the
designs turned out well, but he had nightmares all night about bugs
going after the lemon sugar. ! In the morning, it turned out that
the "bugs" were bits of henna that had flaked off when he had "killed"
a zillion ants in his sleep...
