Just a quick note to confirm Catherine's assessment of Castle Art's
current supply of henna. I have not tried it on myself yet (maybe
tonight), but my henna-loving mother happily reports the best color
ever on her recently hennaed feet. The border around the side of her
foot is BLACK near the soles and turns a dark brownish red (more red
than brown) as it migrates up. The soles themselves are also black.
100% pure henna mixture (with lemon juice, a touch of coffee & a few
drops of clove oil). So it is not only Catherine's vast knowledge and
skill that led her to these results. And as she said, it came with
very little effort. The weather was hot when I started, but cool by
the time I was done (after sunset) and I did not even apply extra
heat. Just socks & sneakers. As I mentioned below, my order of henna
was a bit twiggier than usual (and than the bag that Catherine got),
but it sounds like it was well worth sifting! Can't wait to see for
myself.
P.S. ANOTHER earth quake today (here in SF). The earth is very
unsettled lately.
