: You're really better off buying wholesale anyway : -- 99.999 % of the henna powder you get in an : indian grocery (or off-the-shelf anywhere) is old : and has lost most of it's dyeing power. I try not : to use any henna that's been harvested longer than : 2 months ago -- and I consistantly get great : results. : And -- hair henna is NOT skin henna -- not even : the health-food store kind. It's from a different : part of the plant. Skin henna is from only the : topmost, most potent leaves of the plant. Hair : henna is from the rest of the plant, like twigs and : other cellulose material. Yep. I recall reading here reasons why hair henna shouldn't be used for skin, but I couldn't remember exactly what they were. : Why not buy it online? It's so much cheaper : (besides being fresh), and fast. I know. Impatience was the main factor, since it would have been nice to get some more NOW! :) But I'll be ordering from Beautiful Art of Mehndi. It's in Ottawa, only a couple of hours away. I also wanted to actually meet some Indian women who had actual traditional Mehndi experience that I could talk to them about, so I'm still not giving up hope on finding an Indian grocers or something like here in town. -Keltie >^,,^<
