It's just the powder, not the paste, and it's more licking than really eating. The cat does not nose around to find the jar or bag of the powder, just licks it off my arm or maybe the floor if I've had a little spill or pouf. It hasn't been exactly large quantities. If it's just the tannins, I don't think I have to worry (as I worry if the cat goes after chocolate).
