My experience has been, that if I have my ow little area (may it be behind a room-devider or in a seperate room) people tend to focus more on the right here and now. That gives me plenty of time to talk to the person while giving mehndi. A one on one only conversation without the distraction of others. I hand them the after care flyer and make sure they put it in their pocket. When I used to start off at other then traditional henna parties, I had the same results as you, until I approached the situation in a more private setting. Haven't had any problems since. I got my own light decorative room devider that I made, so I always have a little privacy with me and the clients show more interest in learning about the mehndi. I often bring my own music too if I have my own room setup. Insence, a couple of big floor pillows and a couple of books change the atmosphere very easily. I also keep my istant camera handy for picture taking for the clients, so they don't tend to rip off all the coverings to show to fellow partiers. Good Luck with your next party.
