WHen I say that henna has had a great variety of significances, and
frequent lack of significance for women, I am referring to the whole
length and bredth of henna use from 2100 BCE in the eastern
Mediterranian, to current useage, and from the Atlantic coast of
Africa to Malaysia. It is most commonly a celebratory cosmetic that
women use for luck and to enhance their sexuality.
Now, do you want my bibliography of over 80 books and personal
interviews that supports that conclusion? I've been researching the
history and traditions of henna for 10 years........I've got the
bibliography saved, and the timeline and will email it to anyone who
needs.... YOu're welcome to review all my research and see if you
come to a different conclusion.
