I use honey in my mix, and fenugreek in my tea (which makes the tea
have sort of an okra consistency). It makes for a really smooth paste
that doesn't dry out immediately. I also use the freshest henna I can
get my paws on.
After our camping experience, my husband no longer wants a coat of
lemon-sugar, and he hates the way NewSkin smells, so we tried just
leaving the henna on without any coating, and it stayed on all night
with just a wrap of toilet paper! And his color was nice and dark.
He doesn't know what I put in the paste, and that's probably best, or
he might worry about ants in his sleep again...
