Yogurt as Mordant?

I just came across a reference to the use of yogurt as a mordant with
henna. The person said that this is common in the Gulf. Anyone
heard of this or tried it?

Sometimes I think we are going to end up emptying our entire
cupboards and refrigerators to get that color we want!
