Sorry to hear about your disaster! I've had those, too and they're not pretty. And of course, the designs you like the least are the ones that last the longest -- despite the AHA lotions, scrubbing, swimming, unprotected dishwashing... I use your exact method for my wraps -- and I think your problem was that either the paste or the lemon-sugar wasn't completely dry before wrapping. I'm hyper about using the hair dryer for longer than might be necessary before applying the cotton layer. And since my palm curves in naturally, I've found that unravelled cotton balls really are important to get in between the designs in ways that tp can't. It's not so important for other less curved areas. Sometimes, I'll even use the hairdryer after I put the cotton on and before I do the tp and tape layer. The ace bandage merely serves to keep in the heat and keep the hand a little more protected while I sleep. It's too hot right now to even think of plastic wrap... Good luck!
