Dip henna? Sounds like that's what you mean.
Sit with your hands or feet in a puddle of henna from fresh smashed
henna leaves for a while. Or....apply henna paste made from fresh
leaves with anything handy that you can use to sort of plaster it on.
For pictures, find any book of Indian art that dates before 1700, and
if there's henna, it's dip henna rather than patterned henna.
