When henna binds with your hair, skin, or wool yarn, anything you do
to the keratin/collagen while it is still bound there will have to
cope with the lawsone as well as the keratin. Best as I
understand . ... results of dye are deeply peculiar over hair that
has been hennaed ... and henna over dye is even more bizarre.

This requires some understanding of organic chemistry ...and while I
grasp (barely) what I've found in cosmetic chemistry books about
henna, hair and dyes ... I'm not awfully good at explaining it...
except to say that "Martian Green" is one of the usual results in
combining henna and dye on the same strand of hair.
