Black Henna

I got a henna tattoo done about 3 weeks ago while on holiday and ever
since I came back it has started to get very itchy and the skin is
starting to flake. Does the black henna burn straight away or could
this be a delayed reaction of it? If anyone has any ideas I would be
most grateful.
