IVs?

So, I'm about to try henna for the first time and am trying to think
of the best way for me to apply it. I've heard about the plastic
bag, and the tubes, toothpicks, etc. How about a syringe with and IV
catheter tip on it. It seems like I'd have more control and since
the tip's made of plastic and is not a needle I have no chance of
puncturing myself. Does this sound reasonable? Anyone else ever try
it?
