Wouldn't be at all surprised if her crown were gilded henna leaves.
"Myrtle" (henna is in the myrtle family) was fairly common in ancient
Greece as a crown for women -- and it was the sacred plant of
Aphrodite. And folks in the Mediterranean region shared a lot of
ideas.

Also in the Ryder-Waite Tarot deck, which draws on very old images,
the Empress wears a crown of "myrtle". Not that it proves anything
about ancient Turkey, but it's cool.
