have you ever heard of the book, "Nadia's Hands"? it deals exactly
with this sort of thing. the little girl, nadia, is a flower girl in
her aunts wedding, and has to have her hands henna'd. she is really
reluctant, but does it anyway because she admires her female
relatives. in the end, she is very proud of her henna. karen
english is the author, and its published by boyds mill press. the
illustrations are wonderfully colorful pastels.
