for those who think you're injured.)

I realize it can get tedious, but ignore any implied criticism, act as
if they'd made a simple inquiry, and use it as an opportunity to
enlighten. If you can tease them a little, try "I guess you haven't
looked at the walls in Indian restaurants" or "Shhh! Not so loud,
they'll ALL want one!" or confuse them with "Oh, I'm
just practicing for a wedding." (Don't leave it at that, though.)

If someone's REALLY obnoxious or aggressive, you can get creative:
"What, haven't you ever seen leprosy before?" "You should see my
husband!" (or "the other guy!") I'm sure others here can come up with
better lines. There was some fun about explaining the wraps
(bandages) a while back.
