I tried the bitters/white flower oil recipe

Yesterday I finally got around to trying the recipe that was posted a
couple of weeks ago (making a paste using henna and bitters, applying
it, then using white flower oil). I found the paste to be very
coarse, and it wouldn't flow evenly out of the cone. So my resulting
design was gloppy. Did anyone else have this problem?

I left the paste on for about 1-1/2 hours before it began to fall off.
Today, the design has darkened, but unevenly -- some areas took well
and others are quite pale.

Please respond if you've tried this method. Did it work for you?
