I've gotten henna from all over...and all slightly different.
Freshness is always a factor, and I don't think this henna is all that
well looked after (not like Castle Art, for instance). Egyptian henna
certainly can be as excellent as any other, and Egypt has been
cultivating henna as a cash crop since at least 500 BCE, so they're
not newbies in the marketplace. In the 1800's henna was one of their
top exports, along with cotton, sorghum, and eunuchs.
Once I got some Egyptian henna that made a wonderful, wonderful deep
burgundy stain, alsmost purplish. (Not Frontier's though....I haven't
tried theirs lately...but like I said, I've seen some people get
really good results with it, and some people be very dissappointed).
