You can avoid the dangers of "black henna" by never purchasing any
henna product labeled black henna. Never go to any henna artist with a
"black henna" sign out. There are some "black henna" products that
won't harm you, and not everyone is sensitive to ppd...but why risk
it?

Traditional henna, applied with very fresh henna, plenty of heat, time
and moisture on the right sort of skin will sometimes go black all by
itself, and very safely, too. Purchase only plain henna powder from
a reputable supplier, and prepare it yourself. Then, you're
absolutely sure of what you have! (And having more fun, too!)
