adhesive stencils

Does anyone know where I can find adhesive stencils that actually ADHERE? I have some I bought recently- hand and round vinyl stencils-beautiful, intricate designs. I've yet to use them because I've found that once I remove them from their paper backings, they don't adhere to the skin very well, which I imagine would cause slippage and therefore, smearing. And before anyone asks the obvious, YES, I did attempt to return these but was persuaded to exchange them for other stencils the store had in stock (these were sealed also) and reassured they would adhere. Well, they didn't and since I no longer live in the area in which the store is located, I'm stuck with lovely but useless stencils. Could these be old? I've seen these same vinyl stencils elsewhere but I'm hesitant to buy them. I'd actually like to buy some in a store rather than shop over the internet...Also, are there any bracelet style stencils available...I'd really like to attempt doing mehndi myself and then getting it done by a professional at a later date...But for now, I have the henna, the eucalyptus oil- everything except a decent stencil to work with...Any help would be appreciated.
