I tried ammonia spirits, (used for reviving people). It contains 65%
alcohol,ammonia solution,ammonium carbonate,lavender oil, lemmon
oil, nutmeg oil & purified water. I put a little in to moisten dry
henna, then added my mordant for. Here is what I got: Extremely fast
color after leaving it on for only fifteen minutes and dabbing it once
with lemmon sugar. I also tried freezing it and using it with no
difference in power to stain quickly.A dab of straight ammonia works
too, you dont need much, and with straight ammonia the smell of it
disapates quickly, you cant tell its in there. The spirits has a
citris smell because of the oils in it.
