Well, now, wait a minute!

First - agreed, keep it very simple unless you know (or are) the
person who might suffer from adverse reactions.

That said, I do put in ingredients for warmth (tea really doesn't do
much else, if I've already got acid), for texture, and to help keep
the stuff on (make it hard or flexible or slow the drying time or
whatever). But then again, I am thinking about what I'm putting in
and the consequences (including interactions). I like to experiment,
but some of the things on my ingredients page will never get tested by
me personally; too risky. I'm clearly not the only one who likes to
experiment. Sometimes things even surprise us - such as the recent
camphor experiments.

I do agree with "keep it simple" in spirit, but if the variations
didn't ever do *anything*, then this would be a FAQ, not a discussion.
