It helps if you own large suitcases. If flying, call your airline of choice and find out baggage size/weight restrictions. Tents don't take up that much room but sleeping bags do. I found the best way to pack mine was to fold it square like a blanket. I put the ground sheet on top of that, stacked a pillow and air mattress on that and included a few towels. The trick is to then sit on it and compress the air out of it enough to close. Although I was packing the max allowed it really didn't look all that strange. Natasha used a cooler for a suitcase which I thought was a rather clever way to get it to where it was needed. The first thing you grab to manage all this luggage is a luggage cart. I was so heavy it was difficult to steer but I managed fine by myself. Better yet round up a friend or spouse and make them take you to the airport to help you at least part of the time. Bring plastic garbage bags. After a week in the woods it is nice to put dirty clothes and slightly damp tents away in a fashion that won't ruin your luggage or leave it with a strange odor. Pack one outfit to leave in a Ziploc bag. There are few things worse than being stuck in a coach class seat next to someone who is dirty and or reaking. I have had a passport since I was 4years old and have had more opportunity to observe this than I would like. I didn't find it all that primitive at Brushwood but I imagine a good rainstorm could have made matters of clean clothes and/or wet camping equipment a much more critical issue. The nights can be quite cool. Bring a warm coat, sweatshirt and sweatpants. I found myself wearing all of it to bed one night it spite of having a decent sleeping bag. Clothing is optional and when worn tends to be creative and interesting. By all means bring plenty of clothing and sunscreeen if you sunburn easily. There is little protection from the sun on the main field. The pool is covered so no worrries there. Flashlights are recommended as there are few lights around most of the campsights and many fun opportunities happen after dark. Bring an extra set of batteries. Try out some test packing. The night before is not the best time to find out you do not own a suitcase that will accomodate your tent. If you have questions I would certainly be happy to respond or send inquiries to Brushwood direct. Shanon swlavender@yahoo.com : I thought about the same thing. Not exactly a task I would look : forward to, although I'm sure it's do-able. How do other people : manage all their stuff? Especially if one is alone?
