: *Grin* : Well, in the spirit of "If it don't move, henna it...", I hennaed that : body area that's not spoken of very often in finer circles... I showed : my fiance a sun that I hennaed 'round my belly button. It had four : rays coming out of it: left, right, up, down, and the ray pointing : down was actually a wavy arrow (Happy Trail Arrow, I guess you could : call it!). : Well, his reaction was like, "Oh, that's nice, dear..." : I then dropped my knickers to show 'im exactly what the arrow was : pointing at! Another secret henna design of trapezoidal properties. : *Chuckle* I LOVED THE REACTION!!! Eyeballs popping out all over the : place as if they were on springs. : What I liked is that henna took really well there (must be heaven for : the mehndi -- perfect climate of heat and humidity). And I like the : limit of the area, that nice upside trapezoid. : Oh, I love MEHNDI!! It's like a calculus equation, because even within : a limit you can reach infinite possibilities. : Just wanted to share that bit of info. It's great fun busting out of : the norm' and escaping the boundaries of conformity. : By the way, anyone see the National Geographic for November? It had a : section on African wedding traditions (of course, henna popped up as : one of the traditions). However, there is one tribe in Africa that : when the girl is going to meet her future husband, the females of his : family will throw insults at her (apparently being called a "short : pygmy" is the worst thing to call a person...), and (I love this) : they'll slap COW DUNG on her head!!! I had to read that three times : through to make sure I read it right. How well she handles the tirade : of insults and marauding cow stool is how well she'll be able to : handle marriage. : You know, I respect other traditions that are out there in the world, : but sometimes I'm just really glad to be an American. Well, I read the article. In India also still the same culture exist. The design was nice. I tried the small version of the design on my hand also. It looked nice.
