Try telling your parents that you were thinking of getting a tattoo
but a friend told you about henna, and now that you are doing henna
you probably won't get the tattoo.
My mother is opposed to it because she thinks that I am going to
become a muslim. I just go on with my henna and ignore her...I don't
bother trying to explain because she's just not open to it. Of
course, I am 33 so I am not as controlled by my mother, as a young
woman living under her roof. I hope that my love of henna and my
happiness at having this outlet for my creativity will eventually
convince her that it's okay.
