Forgive the shameless plug, I'm just REALLY excited about mehndi now
that I know it's doable. A picture of my first try is linked below...
I used CastleArt powder, Catherine's simple mehandi.com recipe,
wrapped the hand for 6 hours. It came out dark orange and is now
darkish auburn after 11 hours. (The scanner doesn't do it justice.)
It just keeps getting darker brown too... lamentably I'm not yet good
enough with the cone to really do a good job.

By the way, *something* I said to my parents must have clicked,
because now they're just like "fine, whatever floats your boat, as
long as you don't go hurting yourself..." I guess once they figured
out that no blood, needles, holes or devil worshiping are involved,
they were decidedly cooler with the idea. Many thanks to everyone in
my last thread below who offered their advice!
