: I have relocated and have finally settled in. Saw your message. My
: sympathies -- yes two years ago this was a smaller and less
: competitive place. However, I am willing to chat with anyone for
: the "pleasure" of henna. I don't sell any products, but I am a

Maybe I'm missing something, but I see no sign of the "competitive"
atmosphere you say exists here. What I see is people swapping ideas,
information, stories, and techniques, which is what I think the
creator of the Forum had in mind.

The "Golden Age" of the Forum that you and "Ex-Henna Poster" refer to
is a period some of the rest of us remember as a time when a few
people decided the Forum was their private fiefdom and that they could
dictate to others what to post and drive out anyone who wasn't
sufficiently deferential. This resulted in flame wars and spates of
general unpleasantness that have, for the most part, ended, and I
don't know anyone (other than you and "Ex-Henna Poster") who longs for
their return. The people who seemed to be most often at the center of
the bickering have either moved on or learned better manners.

An important thing to remember is that the general spirit of
unmoderated online communities like the Forum tends to be generated by
the most active participants, but anyone is free to become an active
participant. If you think there's something missing, or some way to
make this a better place, get involved.

From the tone of your post, you clearly believe you have something to
offer that's better than what you see here. Are you going to share it
with the group or continue jeering and sneering from the sidelines?

My own observation is that the current bunch of people in the Forum
are a generally appreciative and supportive lot. If they like what you
have to say, or just happen to find you interesting, they'll respond
to you as they have to others. But one sure way to make certain they
ignore you is to post nothing or nothing but negativity.
