I know what works really fast. A soak in a chlorine filled swimming pool. Boy, never seen a henna stain go faster than that one time I went swimming after a mehndi session. Was I ever so devastated !!
Another place that helps the erasing process is a sauna. I noticed that when I was in the sauna, if I gently rub (with a towel) on my design, it will exfoliate pretty quickly.
