The reason that the wrap works, is that your perspiration keeps the
henna just slightly moist and releasing hennotannins into your skin
hour after hour , and the wrap raises the temperature of the surface
of your skin. This makes the henna release dye more effectively, and
your pores open up and the dye stains far better. (If you're dying
cloth, hot water dying is always darker than cold water dying).
I don't know why henna kits so often have instructions totally
inadequate for helping people have beautiful henna. One of life's
great mysteries.
