Henna doesn't take very well on a face because your skin is oily.
The stain will be very brief. Also, because henna is a 100% sunblock,
it can leave a white place if you get any sun on your face. Henna
doesn't fade down very gracefully, either.

So .... you can henna, but that's probably not a great option for
facial patterns (tattoo and harquus). Costume shops have some useful
stuff for face work, and Temptu is good. I like waterproof eyeliner
for imitating harquus and tattoo. If you want traditional women's
facial tattoo and harquus patterns from henna using countries, email
me. I have 4 sheets of facial patterns, (free) including a darling
one for a child. (I wouldn't put it on a child, but I can appreciate
the care of the Yemenite mother who did so to deter evil spirits from
her lovely baby.)
