I haven't figured out how to reliably henna thin/soft skin, either.
Henna takes great all the time on hands and feet, wrists and ankles.
Tummies, backs, backs of neck, upper arms, thighs and parts more
sensitive mainly turn out faint, even with a wrap.

My best advice is to use every trick in the book if you want a nice
color -- lemon-sugar prep, wrap, and apply again after you take off
the wrap. Double applications of henna really boost the color.

Good luck!
