I meant ph 13. Ph9 isn't near high enough ph. Ammonia is ph13.
Ammonia will percipitate henna dye in your skin.

You can't add ammonia in the paste, because henna only dyes and binds
in acidic conditions.

One lady tried adding ammonia from smelling salts (before and after)
....but I tried to repeat that (side by side) , and the ammonia
evaporated too quickly to make a difference. Didn't do anything
special.
