I bought two henna plants from companion plants a few weeks ago. I've looked long and hard on the internet for information on growing and harvesting them. But have found no information outside this forum and it's archives. So here's what I've learned so far. A few days after I got mine they dropped a few leaves, so it sounds like it's just something associated with travel shock. Then one of our cats ate off the top foliage from one of them. And the other one currently has something of an infestation of small white flies. But they really seem to be hardy things, and are growing quite well. I've read they like a room temperature above 70 degrees fahrenheit, and direct sunlight. As to soil, because they are desert plants, like it fairly dry. I would say water them nicely every few days (4-6?). When they start looking like they need it.. As to harvesting, I've found even less information. One website talked about the henna plant can get to 6 meters or something, but harvesting is done at about 2 1/2 meters three times per year.. But I'm not sure exactly what they meant by that. If anyone would like to add to and/or correct any of that it would be appreciated. I'm looking for all the info I can find. Well, hope I've helped a little. And good luck! - Adam
