: Does anyone have any advise on the best position to be in : to henna my own feet? I've tried it a couple of times and : just can't seem to get in a comfortable, convenient position so the designs end up lousy. First thing to remeber with hennaing feet- henna while you are breathing OUT. When you breathe in, you may actually be pushing your own body away from your feet in some of the following positions. The only way I can henna the tops of my feet is to sit in a chair (that will not slide) and put my feet, one at a time up against the edge of a table or desk. I'm pretty flexible, so my knee ends up being right up against my shoulder. To do the inside arches, I have to sit with the bottoms of both feet pressed together, as close in to my body as possible. Here it helps to brace your toes against something heavy, beacause the farther your feet get from you, the more you have to reach to draw on them. The outside arches are the hardest. This is where some Yoga training really helps. Let's say you start with the right foot. First, kneel, than roll your weight to the left so that feet are pointing right. Bring the right foot out alongside your right hip, and pull your left foot towards you to brace against your inner right thigh. Reverse for other foot. To work on your soles, sit in a chair (that won't slide) place your left heel on the chair seat (edge) and prop your left shin against the table or desk edge. (put a towel or thin pillow between your shin and the edge if you plan to be there awhile). Pull your right foot over your left knee, and push back your chair until comfortable. You should be resting the outside edge of your right foot on the area just above your left knee. You can only do one foot before you'll need to wrap, as you'll be putting your other sole on the chair edge to work on the opposite foot. If any of these fun positions hurt, or you lose feeling, get pins & needles, STOP! Work on it a little at a time if you have to, but don't dislocate your hips!! Carrie
