: What is the shortest amount of time Henna can last? How do I get it
to last for a short point of time?
Henna can last for as little as 3 days.
To get a light, temporary stain from henna....
1. put your henna on an area of skin that has a thin top layer, and is
renewed quickly. The back of my hand is an area with thin skin...the
heel of my foot has a thick top layer. Feel around to see where your
skin feels silky and fine, and would bleed easily if scuffed. Henna
stains the outer layer of dead skin cells... where the layer is thin,
the henna won't last long.
2. leave your henna on for only a short while. That way, less of the
hennotannin will react with your skin.
3. oil your skin before applying henna, which will prevent the henna
stain from penetrating your skin
4. look for a commercial product that's created to remove tea and
coffee stains from teeth or tablecloths. There are a couple of
oxidents that are useful in dislodging tannins.
5. embrace your dirty dishes, because, according to a Pakistani
tradition, the bride goes back to doing housework when her henna
patterns have dissappeared.
