It's the same part of the plant that;s used for both hair and skin. A
few differences, though...henna for hair isn't sifted very well, and
stale henna will still leave a gorgeous color on hair (which is fairly
porous to begin with). Stale henna doesn't stain skin very well --
it's got to be fresh and fragrant.

I use my leftover henna paste (from skin decoration) in my hair.
Works great.
