They're two very different art forms. Lots of people with tats also
get henna. The process of getting hennaed is relaxing and enjoyable,
and sometimes is the highlight of a party. Also, henna as an artform
has existed side by side with tattooing for at least a thousand years
with its own history and vocabulary of symbols.
Think of tattoos as sculpture -- and henna as music. One is a
permanent statement, and one is a moment in time. Not in opposition
to each other, just different.
