I've heard that, too, about having your hair dirty...but I generally
henna my hair after it's just washed (no conditioner) and still wet.
I get fine color. Probably doesn't make any noticeable difference
either wet or dry...clean or dirty...except, that I would think that
grease and dirt might interfere with the absorption of the henna, at
least a little.
