You can apply henna paste 3 days in a row, and leave it in for
several hours each time, and that will pack your hair fibers so
heavily with hennotannins that it will appear signigicantly
lightened...... a traditional technique is to braid it into your
hair, then wrap your hair up in a turban.
Very fresh henna paste applied for several hours will "red up" your
hair enough that it looks lighter. Heat helps.
Mix your henna with lemon juice and leave it to release the dye for a
few hours. Nothing else is necessary.
