Where do you live? And how interested are you in the whole henna
thing?

It is true that if you get into it, mixing your own is pretty simple
and very rewarding, but I must say that it took me a while to get to
that point myself. You will have to order henna powder (follow
Catherine's advice - Castle Arts), find a good recipe (again,
Catherine), sift, mix, let the paste mature for a good 8-12 hours
(depending on your climate) before applying, keep it on the skin
quite a while (several hours to overnight), and apply heat to get a
good stain. And it still may not happen the 1st time. You may have
to experiment a bit. If you are a hannaphile, this is all part of
the fun.

But if all you really want is to achieve one great design for prom,
this may be more effort than you want to put in. Also, a cool
climate may make it a bit more challenging. In that case a good
premix may be the better bet. If you decide to go with MUD, be
forewarned that my order is taking a long time (ordered 2 wks ago -
still no MUD. but not from MyST - maybe hers is faster).

Also be forewarned that mehndi is addictive. If you do get good
results from premixed, you will probably wind up buying powder &
doing all of the above eventually anyway.
