If I were going to be a scholar, ethnomusicology would be my field --
going to fun places, hanging out with folks, listening to music and
eating feasts...my kind of fieldwork!!

Actually, maybe one could do an anthropological study of the henna
ladies. Go to Egypt, Morocco, etc. and hang out with henna ladies and
interview them and their clients, get hennaed, go to the hammam, eat
lots of delicious food...this has potential...hmmm...
