Mehndi Mud and other questions?

Hi,
I was reading below that a lot of people like the Mehndi Mud, I just ordered some of their powder. I was wondering if anyone knows, does their powder get as good of reviews as their paste, is it fresh, or did I waste my money? Also, I'm looking to get started as an artist in the Lake Jackson/Houston, TX area. Does anyone have any tips on just starting out, where to go, what to expect, how to gain experience? My friends are starting to get tired of being my "guinea pigs". Thanks.
