Those are really nice ones! I collected a few too -- some of them
had really cheesy red paint that was supposed to look like henna,
though.
My impression of the velvety black henna in some Moroccan pix is that
that it is harquush and mixed with the walnut gall.
Have you checked out a book called "The Hakima -- Tragedy in Fes"?
Sad book, gorgeous photos including some really nice henna/harquush
feet.
