: At Starwood, people kept coming to me and asking for backs, necks, : chests and sunburned bits to be hennaed, and I refused nearly every : time. I don't use the premixes because I'm so uneasy about hurting : anyone, and I don't like to take people's money for a job I doubt will : come out well. At Brushwood, every henna I do is seen all week by : hundreds of other people, and if my work doesn't look excellent every : time, there goes my credibility. I only did work that I knew was going : to be outstanding and would bring people back to my booth. That's great advice. I have had mixed feelings about doing designs on non-henna-liking body parts. I explain the difference between different types of skin etc. and stress the importance of following the aftercare instructions to get a good color. If they insist on getting the design, I often feel awful that they aren't being realistic about the results and their expectations. I had one woman call me up because her $5 belly design didn't come out dark. I really wished I had just refused to do the henna on her....it wasn't worth $5 to get out of bed to tell her 'I told you so'. Thanks for the advice!
