Any chance she's spraying it with peroxide rather than water?
There is a form of PPD that is activated by peroxide.
I'd certainly like to see a test of that stuff...... just doesn't
sound right at all. Does it have an odor? Any clue about source?
Mixing?
There are hair dyes going under names that include the word "Natural"
that have PPD in them .... and are dark brown dyes.
ONe of the products that is nearly straight PPD includes dark brown
hair color, is water activated, and the title on the box seems to have
"Natural" implications (though I suppose they meant that your hair
would look naturally dark brown....not dyed). The beauty supply lady
said kids prefer to use the products that have nearly straight PPD
with water as the solvent, because when they see all the long chemical
names on Clairol and L'Oreal, they think those must be somehow more
dangerous because the words are longer.
